Gretsch Avant Garde kit for sale!

The Avant Garde kit consisting of (2) 14×20’s, (2) 8×12’s, 16×16, and 5×14 Chrome-Over-Brass Snare Drum was available from 1968 – 1971.

This is an original 1969 Avant Garde in its original Tangerine Sparkle. This is NOT an “after-the-fact, put-together kit”, as its specific hardware configuration bears out. All shells are original, with their Gretsch paper tags inside. Bearing edges are all original. Wraps are original (except for bass drum hoop inlays). Tom stand and snare stand original.
Non original parts:
Bass drum hoops. Replacements are Keller Maple hoops with Delmar Tangerine Glass Glitter inlays, finished by Gary at Precision Drum Co. Inc.
Bottom tom hoops, replaced with Gretsch brand die cast hoops. Floor tom bottom hoop has snare gates.
(16) bass drum claws and T-handles replaced with Gretsch brand.
Snare wires are new Gretsch brand 42 strand.
Bass drum Pratt muffler felts replaced with 1/8″ thick wool felt.
Bass drum badges, replaced with era correct Gretsch badges and grommets.
All heads are new, standard fit Gretsch brand, except for the bass drum heads which are Remo Classic fit.
General notes about the kit:
This kit came to me extremely dirty, with a fair amount of rust. After removing the rust, the snare and tom stands are badly pitted, with much of the chrome plating gone. The die cast hoops have some pitting, as well as minor pitting on some lugs and other hardware. Inside of the shells are dirty. I did my best to remove dirt without upsetting the silver sealer paint. Wrap seams are all secure. Restoration was done by Gary at Precision Drum Company.
