Super restoration example:
The owner of this bass drum faced a big problem. The bass drum had water damage. As a result, it could not be played. One of the reinforcing rings had rotted, and the bearing edge was – well, see the pictures. However, it’s vintage wrap finish matches the rest of the kit. Replacing the bass drum would result in the new wrap finish not matching the other drums.
The craftsman at Precision Drum Company custom fit a notched shell segment on which a new bearing edge could be cut. The segment was glued in place, then further reinforced with a conventional reinforcing ring. When a drum head is installed, the repair cannot be seen.

Shipping Your Drum
Please include a note containing your contact information and general instructions on what you would like us to do.
As of February 1, 2019, there will be a bench fee of $20 for repairs on drums that customers send to us. This is for behind-the-scenes labor involved when handling repair jobs. Fee is per box, when more than one shell is included.
To send shells, pack them carefully using crumpled newspapers or packing materials to cushion shells. Nest shells, one inside the other (where possible) using newspapers or cardboard between shells. As a result, the shipping box will be as small as possible.
Be sure to insure your shells for their value.
If you are within driving distance of our facility, you may bring us your shells in person. Please call us before coming.
