For example, drum recovering, bearing edge re-cutting, shell cutting (depth reduction), hole drilling, snare beds, and other drum services and repairs are offered.
Precision Drum Company gives the necessary time and attention to insure that every drum we build sounds it’s best. Our bearing edge cutting is second to none. The expert craftsmen at Precision use a sanding disc and machinist surface plate. As a result, we achieve flatness of the bearing edge plane that touches the drum head. This allows the drummer to tune the drums to low notes. Furthermore, this highly important flat plane allows the drum head to resonate to a clear, defined tone.
Once the flat plane is achieved, the actual bearing edge is cut in several stages of routing. Careful, hands on attention is given to this procedure. After the desired bearing edge contour is cut, the final polishing stage occurs, which includes application of a fine wax. Consequently, our drums tune easily and give clear, defined tones. In other words, it’s like music to the ears!
